We are also soliciting presentations on traditional and emerging topics of importance in forest modeling, such as:

  • Quantitative Management: Sustainability Analysis; Financial & Risk Analysis; Growth & Yield; Operations Research; Optimization; etc.
  • Plantation Management: Spacing; Vegetation Control and Fertilization; Irrigation; Genetic Engineering, etc.
  • Computational Forestry: Simulations; Programming and Software Development; Internet Applications; etc.
  • Inventory Issues: Inventory, FIA/SAFIS Related Matters, Updates; Surveys; Sampling; Site Determination; etc.
  • Modeling: of Growth &Yield, Processes and Landscape; Models & Validation; Parameter Estimation; N-lin. Mixed Effects; etc.
  • Data: Relational & Distributed Databases: Design, Programming, Management, Maintenance and Use; Data banks; etc.
  • Other: Methodologies; Algorithms; Mathematical Methods; Harvest Scheduling and Optimization; Multi-Criteria Decision Modeling; Remote Sensing and GIS; Land Use Changes; Supply Analysis; Econometrics; Expert Systems; Decision Analysis; Decision Trees and Management Diagrams; etc.

The level of presentation is often diverse, but we welcome talks designed to be accessible to all, without sacrificing content. Graduate students are especially encouraged to think of our conference as a friendly place to get feedback on their proposed research work or work in progress.

Conference participants may submit more than one abstract for consideration in the conference; however, each speaker will be limited to one presentation.

For Registration and Abstract submission visit: http://www.growthandyield.com/conference/

The deadline for abstract submission is September 25, 2008.
