The Science Exchange Internship Positions
Application Deadline: until filled
Internship Dates: 6 to 8 weeks in the field, dates flexible from June – Sept 2019
Locations: Various coastal sites in Mexico
Our non-profit organization is currently interviewing potential interns to work on field research projects related to sea turtle or avian conservation. Each intern will be trained on their individual research topic. Interns are required to complete a 15-page scientific paper and present their results locally. We mentor students through international conference presentations and publications. As an optional add-on the internship qualifies for at least 3 units of transferable biology credit at San Diego State University or the home university.
This is a great introduction to a career in international field work and an excellent resume booster.
A minimum of 18 years of age. Undergraduate and graduate students in any major (or gap year students) who are mature, flexible, responsible, and adventurous are encouraged to apply.
Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Conversational English required. Conversational Spanish highly encouraged.
Ability to work independently, handle tropical weather (heat, humidity, rain), a love for insects and other wild animals, and willingness to work with their hands.
Travel is paid by the intern, and partial scholarships are available through The Science Exchange
