PLT Business Partner of the Year
2008 Award Recipient
Family of Orange Lake Resorts Orlando
The Family of Orange Lake Resorts Orlando is committed to the conservation and preservation of the resort’s wildlife and environmental resources. Through educational initiatives such as Project Learning Tree, Orange Lake owners and guests are given the opportunity to learn about the resort’s natural resources. Camp Adventure, a wildlife camp for children staying on the property, utilizes materials from PLT to help them learn about Florida’s wildlife and native fauna while educating them on the importance of protecting animal life and preserving wildlife habitats.
In addition to the camp, scheduled Nature Walks for owners and guests, showcase the resort’s conservation and preservation efforts, while also utilizing educational points from PLT to educate those unaware of Florida’s native wildlife and fauna.
The resort has two-onsite PLT Facilitators to run these wildlife initiatives and teacher workshops. During the past year, two PLT and Project WILD workshops for teachers were held at Orange Lake for elementary, middle, and high school teachers. We honor the Family of Orange Lake Resorts Orlando’s commitment to supporting PLT.
