Medart Elementary holds a week long PLT event each year with a different theme. The 2007 theme was “Conservation is Key”. Topics presented in classes throughout the week included: water conservation, taking care of pets, camouflage, animal habitats, safety around electricity, stormwater pollution, renewable resources, FWC helicopters and K-9 unit , boat safety, blacksmithing, hands on discovery, aquatic activities and presentations, how to be green at home, forestry, and numerous wildlife presentations.
