Technology Requirements

Viewing the Online Training is easy. Follow the four steps below and you’ll be ready to start!

  • 1. You will need a Flash player, which most computers already have. If you do not have a flash player you can download one at http://www.macromedia.com/downloads and under "Download Free Player" choose "Macromedia Flash Player".
  • 2. You will need to enable pop ups. You have two options.
    • A. Search your computer for any software with "pop-up" in the name. Disable it or set the Places We Live Online Training as an allowed site. Examples of popular pop-up blocking applications include: Pop-Up Stopper, Pop-Up Defender, and Pop-Up Zapper.
    • B. Pop-up blocking is included in some web browsers, and in some anti-virus, firewall, and security programs. Disable the relevant setting in the program or set Places We Live Online Training as an allowed site.

      * Yahoo! Toolbar
      * MSN Toolbar
      * AOL 8.0 and later
      * Microsoft Windows XP, Service Pack 2
      * Mozilla/Netscape

      • Note: If your program is not listed here, refer to the Help section in your program.
  • 3. Finally, to print out the worksheet you will need Adobe Reader. Most computers also come with this software, but if not, it can be downloaded for *free* from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.
