Frank Chapman is an aquaculture scientist whose research programs focus on the applications of physiological processes; principally reproductive biology and early development and feeding of larvae in aquaculture. Emphasis is on identification of species appropriate for aquaculture development and establishment of domestic broodstocks. Early projects included establishment of domestic broodstocks and indoor rearing and feeding of ornamental aquarium fishes in recirculating aquaculture systems. Current projects include conservation aquaculture of giant fishes such as sturgeons, goliath grouper, arapaima, arowanas, gars, and catfishes.
