Job description: The National Forests in Florida has partnered with the Student Conservation Association (SCA), to employ an intern for approximately three months starting June 5, 2017, to serve under the guidance and direction of the of the National Forests in Florida Partnership and Volunteer Coordinator and Osceola National Forest district personnel.
Interns receive on-the-job training and experience working with U.S. Forest Service personnel in support of recreation programs while learning about conservation and natural resource programs on national forest lands. This position offers a wide range of opportunities to work with a variety of partners, offering experiences that have the potential to broaden long-term career opportunities.
This position is a paid internship and can include housing.
Term: Three months beginning June 5, 2017
Qualifications: Experience working with youth camps is preferred, but not required. Applicants should have good communication skills and a passion for the great outdoors. A valid driver’s license is required.
Job site description: The Osceola National Forest is located 45 minutes from the beaches in Jacksonville, Florida and the Nature Coast, home of the University of Florida in Gainesville. There are many natural springs and rivers that support recreation in the area.
