Land Surveyor, GS–1373- 5/7/9/11
The Northern Washington Lands Zone (Colville, Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie, Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forests) will soon be advertising for a GS-1373-5/7/9/11 Land Surveyor in Training position, with a duty station in Wenatchee, WA. The position reports to the Zone Lead Land Surveyor and serves as a Survey Project Manager and Crew leader based out of Wenatchee. The Zone survey projects are varied, complex, and challenging, including terrestrial (both conventional and GPS based), engineering (sites and roads), and other surveys as needed.
The position is permanent full time with the primary responsibility of providing cadastral surveying services in support of Forest Service activities from initial project development through completion and filing of records with the respective County. Secondary responsibilities may also include leading/assisting with surveying projects on Federal lands within the state for other Federal agencies, contract administration, providing land surveying expertise for lands/realty projects, and other responsibilities as needed.
This position is a developmental position with a goal of becoming a GS 11 – 1373 Licensed Land Surveyor. The full GS 11 position requires a Washington State Professional Land Surveyor license or the ability to obtain this license within one year of selection. Remote job sites require up to 25% travel away from the duty station.
