Administrative
Course and room scheduling, including requests for changes in course schedules, is handled by Kristina.

Grade reports, instructor workloads, and course/teacher evaluations are coordinated by Grad Program Assistant..

Student records, including graduate applications are filed in Grad Program Assistant office. Contact Kristina for more information. Students can access their files by appointment. Faculty advisors may access files as needed for academic advisement or counseling. The confidentiality of student records is provided by the Buckley Amendment and state statues and student records may not be accessed by other students or unauthorized persons.

The collection of SFRC theses, dissertations, and honors projects is housed in Grad Program Assistant office where check out by faculty and students can be arranged.

School displays, brochures and various printed materials for prospective students are prepared by Kristina and made available to SFRC faculty and staff as requested.

Kristina coordinates undergraduate and graduate catalog updates and the academic portion of the School website.

Proposals for new courses, modifications to existing courses, and revisions to curricula are coordinated by Scott Sager, Education/Training Coordinator, who also manages the Academic Learning Compact program for the School.

Dr. Bon Dewitt (305 Reed Hall; bon@ufl.edu; 392-6010) provides major-specific advising and support to students majoring in Geomatics.

The support staff, working through the Undergraduate and Graduate Coordinators on matters concerning policy, procedures and exceptions, provide liaison with CALS and the University on all academic matters.

Undergraduate Programs
Advisement: Students can contact Kristina about specific questions regarding admissions requirements and process, course schedule and registration, drop/add of courses, internship and job opportunities, degree audits, and graduation requirements. Admissions requirements are posted on the SFRC website and in the Undergraduate Catalog. Course schedules, registration, SASS degree audits, and graduation applications can be accessed on UF’s website. Questions specific to the Geomatics program can also be answered by Chris.

Scholarships: The SFRC offers numerous merit-based scholarships. Applications and awards are made in fall and spring term. Application forms and detailed information are available on the SFRC’s website under Undergraduate Programs.

Graduate Programs
Admissions: Admissions requirements can be found on the SFRC website under Graduate Programs. All SFRC admission application materials should be sent to Rhianon. I-20s, Form 2’s and other graduate student forms are submitted to Rhiannon for processing. Contact Rhiannon when you wish to admit a graduate student.

Advisement: Academic handbooks for the MFRC, MS, and PhD degrees are available on the SFRC website. The major professor and the supervisory committee, along with the student are responsible for timely preparation of the Schedule of Courses (Form 2) that guides semester by semester registration. Students can register online through UF’s website or see Rhiannon for “special course” registration. Fellowship and tuition waivers are processed by Rhiannon.

Mailboxes: FRC Graduate student mailboxes are located in 226 Newins-Ziegler Hall.

Graduate Carrels: Most graduate students are accommodated within the laboratory and related space of their major professor. The SFRC provides general accommodations for students seeking carrel space when they can not be accommodated by the major professor.

Graduate Student Travel Awards: The SFRC offers supplemental funding to support graduate student travel that involves formal participation in professional and scientific meetings. Details, including eligibility and application forms can be found on the SFRC’s website under Graduate Programs.
