This is a technical position responsible for assisting the GIS Analyst Lead in the ongoing performance of the Community Development Department’s Land Management Database, as well as other technological functions of the Planning Department, such as Geographical Information Systems mapping and analyses, concurrency management, and website management. Work is under the direct management of the Planning Manager, and the incumbent is responsible for providing technical and informational support to the Community Development staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
College courses in GIS/ArcGIS. Requires at least three years of digital mapping work experience, geodatabase development and maintenance. Public Administration, or Urban Regional Planning experience desired. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Must possess valid Florida Operator’s license. Subject to emergency call-outs during off-duty hours and on weekends as required. During occasions of local emergencies this position may be required to report to perform emergency tasks, which may result in extended work hours as well as extended periods of time away from family members. The Incident Commander and the employee’s Division Director will make the determination as to who will be required to work. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, climb or crawl. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee must be able to speak clearly and hear instructions in English. Ability to communicate verbally both in person and over the phone. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
