Any recent (or soon-to-be) graduates (and not just geologists) who may be looking for a fall 2016 / winter 2017 gig… The Geoscientists-In-Parks internships have been posted at https://rock.geosociety.org/eo/GeoCorpsJobDescriptions_gip.asp. I believe that the application deadline is July 1.
While these internships do include many opportunities for geologists, they are *not* limited there…there are also positions specifically looking for students working in biology, astronomy interpretation, paleontology, exhibit design, civil engineering, and GIS, too! Two of the positions listed are K-12 earth science education positions at Congaree, too–an intense but fun program now in its 10th year.
Congaree has worked with the GIP program for years, and it is a great opportunity for folks looking to gain professional experience in some awesome and diverse settings. A small travel stipend and housing are usually covered along with the stipend. This year for the first time the program is also able to offer AmeriCorps awards that can help folks cover the cost of education expenses.
