Geomatics

Are you interested in cutting-edge technology?
...a job that is both in and out-of-doors?

Check out the Geomatics major at the University of Florida.

Geomatics deals with the development and management of Earth-based data. Data is gathered using tools such as satellites, air and sea borne sensors, and ground based instruments. Data are then manipulated and analyzed using advanced computer systems. Geomatics students learn how the Earth is measured, how the Earth-based data is analyzed and how this data is integrated into forms and systems that people can use. Students gain hands-on experience working with field equipment and in high tech classrooms. The Geomatics major at UF is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and is the only program of its kind in the state.
