I am a graduate student in Jason Smith’s Forest Pathology lab, and am employed by the arboriculture company the F.A. Bartlett Tree Experts. My academic interests are centered on tree pathogen biology and disease management. My research project is focused on the biology, decay potential and pathogenicity of Ganoderma species commonly observed in the Southeastern United States. Ganoderma is a large and diverse genus of wood decay fungi that is globally distributed, and often observed fruiting on declining trees.
