Marilyn Bachmann

 

Marilyn Bachmann came to the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences in 1993 from Iowa State University where she was Professor of Animal Ecology. She and her students did research and published in the areas of animal behavior, aquatic ecology, and herpetology. She taught graduate courses in behavioral ecology and herpetology.

Here in Florida, Dr. Bachmann works with Dr. Canfield's limnology group and Florida LAKEWATCH. She is the author (with Canfield and Hoyer) of the book "Living at the Lake, a Handbook for Florida Lakefront Property Owners". She also collaborated with the Kissimmee restoration group at the South Florida Water Management District on the herpetological fauna of the Kissimmee River watershed area. Currently, she is primarily involved with computer graphics and maintains the website for FloridaLAKEWATCH. She also designed and maintains the website for the Harris Chain of Lakes Restoration Council, for which Dr. Canfield is the Univ. of Florida member of the Technical Advisory Group.
