The Student Association for Fire Ecology (SAFE) generally meets every other week at Tim and Terry’s near the University of Florida campus. Our meetings are generally between half an hour to an hour long and generally consist of very relaxed and friendly discussions of recent and upcoming fire ecology related conferences, funding sources or interesting research finds. Our members represent multiple schools and academic disciplines but are bonded by a common interest in fire and fire ecology. We have members at the graduate (phd and masters) and undergraduate levels. All are welcome! There are no membership fee requirements or eligibility requirements, other than being a current UF student. Members are encouraged to become members of the Association for Fire Ecology, but this is not required to be active in SAFE @ UF. Getting on our mailing list is the easiest way to find out about SAFE activities and local fire ecology related events. If you are interested in attending a meeting or being on our email list, contact David Godwin (drg2814@ufl.edu). |
