Rayonier’s Business Development Team is offering an internship position during the summer of 2018. The position will be involved in a variety of projects and will interact and contribute in the areas of Market Intelligence and Timber Market Analysis.
Rayonier Business Development Intern
The selected candidate will work as a part of Rayonier’s 3-member Business Development team. The team’s responsibilities include (1) Market Intelligence: economic research, timber supply/demand modeling, price forecasting, (2) Timber Demand Growth: mill recruitment, SYP log export development, and (3) Timber Marketing Effectiveness and Process Improvement: operational system planning tool development, strategic & tactical internal consulting.
The internship will be focused on a combination of the above depending on active projects and the individual’s interests. Likely emphasis will be placed on economic research and price forecasting, SYP log export development, and key internal consulting projects. The internship will be based out of Rayonier’s Yulee, Florida Wildlight office, but may require company-paid travel to other parts of Rayonier’s U.S. South ownership.
- Graduate Students, or students in their Junior or Senior year – Preference will be given to graduate-level students, however, undergraduate Juniors and Seniors are encouraged to apply
- Degree Concentration – Forest Business, Finance, or Economics, Forestry, Forest Management
- Each internship duration will last ten to twelve weeks
- Candidates should have interest in timberland economics and analysis, be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, self-motivated, detail oriented and able to work independently
